Premium 1.16.1 / Free 3.6.1

WordPress dashboard or direct access to the server to set the values, and despite trying different approaches, the worst I could do was to break the Relevanssi search (I tried to destroy tables from the database, but couldn’t make that happen). So, as far as I can tell, this is……a relatively minor security vulnerability. However, all security vulnerabilities are taken seriously and fixed immediately. Version 1.16.1 of Relevanssi Premium and 3.6.1 of the free Relevanssi are safe from this vulnerability. There are also other improvements in these versions: Premium: Multisite meta queries didn’t work properly. Premium: The filter relevanssi_tax_term_additional_content……now works even when the taxonomy description is empty. Premium: Relevanssi taxonomy term indexing is moved to a later priority (from 10 to 9999) to make sure all term data is available for indexing. Both: Search and Filter shortcode is added to the blacklist. Both: Groups plugin is now supported…

Premium 1.16.0.1

Version 1.16.0.1 is a small fix that tackles couple of issues 1.16.0 had in multisite environment. This is a recommended upgrade if you’re running a multisite, but if you’re on a single site system, it’s not necessary to update. Fixes “unknown column” issues in multisite searches. Removes errors when trying to search a multisite subsite…

Premium 1.16.0 / Free 3.6.0

Versions 1.16.0 and 3.6.0 have a new major version number, because these versions change how Relevanssi attaches itself to queries. In my tests, this hasn’t affected how Relevanssi works, but it is possible that especially in unusual use cases this may cause problems. On the upside, this change should reduce the number of compatibility issues…

Premium 1.15.4 / Free 3.5.12

Both Relevanssi Premium and the free version have been updated. Both version include a update to the taxonomy query handling. Previous versions couldn’t handle nested tax_queries properly. That works now. There were also some issues with the post type exclusion: it didn’t work quite as expected. Premium version also includes a significant performance improvement on…

…that let you disable one-letter searches, if you need them (1.15.3 and 3.5.11 disabled the feature). New filter: relevanssi_allow_one_letter_highlights lets you allow one-letter highlights. Just make the filter function return true. New filter: relevanssi_block_one_letter_searches by default blocks one-letter searches. If you want to enable them, add a filter function that…

Premium 1.15.3

Relevanssi Premium 1.15.3 fixes many bugs and improves Relevanssi behaviour in many cases. Indexing taxonomy terms is further improved, as is highlighting HTML tags. A fairly big change is how Relevanssi handles taxonomy terms and user profiles when a post type parameter is used. Previously setting a post type parameter didn’t exclude taxonomy terms and…

Premium 1.15.2

Relevanssi Premium 1.15.2 is a bug fix release, which improves many areas in Relevanssi. It is a recommended upgrade. After you upgrade, I suggest rebuilding the index, especially if you are indexing taxonomy terms. When a taxonomy term was saved, Relevanssi didn’t record the changes correctly. New WP CLI commands……to index only users or taxonomies. Improved the way highlighting handles HTML tags, especially when highlighting on post pages. Relevanssi didn’t remove taxonomy term data from the index properly. I recommend rebuilding the taxonomy terms (which you can do easily with the new WP CLI command wp relevanssi index –target=taxonomies)….…the value. The default value is 1, and there’s usually no reason to adjust that. FacetWP users ran into trouble, as relevanssi_do_query() started to explicitly expect a WP_Query object in version 1.15.0. That expectation is removed; it’s still highly recommended for future compatibility that you use WP_Query objects. Small bug…

This update matches Relevanssi Premium 1.15.1 and contains some improvements to how Relevanssi works. The biggest change is the added support for taxonomy queries using field set to name. Here’s the full list of changes: Improved the way highlighting handles HTML tags, especially when highlighting on post pages. The throttle limit setting was removed from…
