Anders Saugstrup of Marketers.dk says: “Mikko’s Relevanssi plugin saved our search!
We were struggling with irrelevant search results on our bbPress forum, Marketers.dk – the largest Danish Online Marketing Forum.

The build in search engine in WordPress simply did not deliver the results our paying members where asking for.

The only plugin that fit our criteria (working with WordPress, bbPress and working behind a paywall) was Relevanssi, which also happens to be the best WordPress search engine.

Implementing it needed some tweaking and Mikko has been amazing in helping us out. Now we have the search results that we wanted!

Tom Ewer of ManageWP (a highly recommended tool for anybody, who manages lots of WP sites, by the way) wrote an article called Relevanssi: The Best Search Engine for WordPress?. He points out a mistake of mine: “To be honest, I think the developers of Relevanssi have offered too much in the free version.” As he says, “There is no comparison between default WordPress search and Relevanssi – the latter blows the former out of the water. [..] Not only that, Relevanssi is a piece of cake to set up.”

Relevanssi is listed on TidyRepo, which is a curated list of the best and most functional plugins from the WordPress repository and around the web.

Relevanssi was mentioned on Kevin Leary‘s list of 10 Perfect Plugins for Building a WordPress CMS. Kevin called Relevanssi “a small little gem” and said “All in all a great little plugin I highly recommend for any WordPress install, CMS or not.”

Eric Amundson of IvyCat.com recommends Relevanssi in his personal blog: Make WordPress Search Relevant with Relevanssi. Eric says “Relevanssi is an indispensable WordPress plugin and I encourage anyone using WordPress to try it and support its development. Trust me, you’ll never go back.”.

Jon of Armchair Theorist included Relevanssi on his list of 5 Useful but Lesser Known WordPress Plugins and says he was able to create a search experience that was “Relevant. Neat. User-friendly. Useful.”

Kirk McElhearn of Kirkville recommends Relevanssi in his entry Improved Searches on Kirkville with Relevanssi“Thanks to Mikko for developing this plug-in; it’s very useful, and I think a lot of other WordPress users will want to try it out.”

TodoWordPress recommends Relevanssi“Relevanssi, un muy buen script que nos indexará comentarios, tags, campos personalizados, así como por supuesto títulos y contenidos, y nos formateará la página de resultados por relevancia.”

Pelfusion lists Relevanssi at #1 in their list of 20 Must Have WordPress CMS Plugins.

Stephanie Leary, author of Beginning WordPress 3.0, says at Content Creation, LLC“I’ve recently discovered Relevanssi, which arranges search results by relevance rather than by date. I immediately installed it everywhere. It’s wonderful. There are a lot of plugins that improve WordPress’s search results, but this is the easiest to use.”

Dr Mike Sagman of Dog Food Advisor says: “Thanks for your sharing your well-designed and valuable plugin with the world and making it available for me to use on my website. It is working flawlessly and my guests are making much more use of the information on my website. After more than two years of using the inadequate WordPress default plugin, traffic appeared to improve steadily immediately following the installation of your Relevanssi plugin.”
